We spoke to Lukasz about winning this award and here’s what he had to say:
Why did you start your business?
I’ve been working as a chef for 15 years in restaurants and hotels. I was always working for someone else and I just wanted to do it for myself as I loved getting to make people happy with food.
What sets your business apart from ohers?
I don’t look at it as a business. I look at it as delivering an experience. I love getting to cook and make customers happy with food. It’s my passion.
What’s a challenge you’ve had to overcome in your business?
It was probably finding the right staff who had the same vision as me. I think you need to share the same vision so you can work towards the same goal of delivering the best experience for the client.
How has Poptop helped your business?
I don’t need to do anything once I signed up. Poptop does it for me. It makes it completely hassle-free and makes my life so much easier.
How do you make sure you provide a quality service?
It doesn’t matter who the client is, I want to dedicate the same amount of my time to them so they know that I am there to help and provide the best service possible. I like to think of everything from the food to the atmosphere as every client is different, so you have to think about your approach for each one differently.
How does it feel to win Supplier of the Year?
I am honoured to receive this recognition. It shows the hard work and 100% effort I’ve been putting in is being seen. It’s motivating to know that others see my dedication.
What are you goals for 2025?
I am looking to open a cafe with no set menu, so I can make different things each day and make things that people want to.
What advice do you have to anyone starting their business?
Don’t be afraid of failing. If you fail, treat it as a learning experience. If you provide a great quality service then the business will take care of itself.
What’s your favourite dish to make?
Oh, that’s a very common question. I like getting to cook something different every day. I don’t like to just do the same thing every day. The food I make I want it to bring people together to have an enjoyable experience.
What’s one of your favourite events?
Every event is unique from small to large ones. This makes it difficult to choose just one as I can love working at large formal corporate events or a small an intimate one.
