Shahid and his brother catered for us fantastically. Initial contact was efficient and answered all of my questions quickly and professionally. The service was prompt and professional, they turned up on time and set up quickly and exactly where we needed them. Food was ready to go pretty quickly so our guests weren't kept waiting. And then the best bit - the food quality was amazing! Several friends and guests commented on how good it tasted, I personally loved the beef rendang, and the presentation was neat and clean and using biodegradable serving containers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bananaleaf and if we host a similar event anytime soon I'll be asking Shahid to come back!

A huge thank you to Stewart for catering our recent 40th birthday party. His communication was great, particularly with our attendee numbers fluctuating over the weeks prior! He went out of his way to prepare a special birthday treat for my other half of his favourite chocolates - the attention to detail was great and food quality and quantity just perfect. The pakora was particularly popular! Thanks for making our day stress free!

Zouk provided a top class Indian buffet for my meeting. The food was amazing and the service was brilliant. Everyone who ate went back for a second helping and said it was the best catering they have had for a meeting. I will definitely be using Zouk again and will highly recommend to colleagues in my industry.

We delivered next level parties for exceptional companies

We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.

Indian Caterers in Liverpool: A Buyer’s Guide

Planning food for a Liverpool celebration should feel exciting, not exhausting. If you want flavour, warmth and a dash of theatre, Indian catering fits the city perfectly. From waterfront weddings and stylish townhouse parties to match day hospitality and uni balls, there are caterers who can serve brilliant plates at pace. In this guide we’ll walk through service styles, menus that shine on Merseyside, venue tips, pricing you can actually use, and a step by step plan to get booked with confidence.

Why Indian Catering Suits Liverpool

Liverpool parties are big on atmosphere. Guests expect food that keeps up with the music and the chat. Indian catering delivers generous portions, vivid colour, and that lovely moment when a room smells like spice and celebration. The cuisine also adapts beautifully to local tastes. A coastal spin suits the city’s maritime story, while small plates work a treat for cocktail receptions and after parties. Add in quick service formats for busy schedules and you’ve got a setup that looks good and runs on time.

What You Can Book

Caterers in Liverpool tend to offer a range of formats. Choose the one that matches your event’s pace and personality.

  • Street food units for casual energy. Think loaded chaat bowls, kati rolls, paneer tikka skewers and masala fries. Perfect for after party snacks, match day hospitality and outdoor receptions.
  • Buffet spreads when you want choice and speed. A typical set includes two mains, rice, fresh breads, salads and chutneys. Guests help themselves and the queue moves quickly.
  • Seated banquets for ceremony and speeches. Plated courses create a shared rhythm for the room and look fantastic in photos at boutique hotels or Georgian houses.
  • Live stations for theatre. Big pan biryani, dosa griddles, jalebi frying or a kulfi cart. These become a focal point and keep the crowd entertained as service flows.

Liverpool Event Types That Pair Well with Indian Menus

Design around your event’s tempo and you’ll nail it first time.

  • Waterfront weddings. A refined banquet with canapés on arrival and a live dessert station later gives you structure and sparkle. Coastal flavours nod to the setting without feeling themed.
  • Hen and stag pre-drinks with bites. Small plates keep the energy up and the schedule moving. Finger friendly options protect outfits and suit quick room turnarounds.

For years, our chefs have loved Britain’s favourite dish – curry. After perfecting our recipes while trying to impress each other on the road, we knew it had to be on our menu. Choose from Chicken Balti (Medium), Chicken Korma (Mild), or Chickpea Curry (Medium), all served with rice, and naan, and topped with yoghurt, mint sauce, and mango chutney.

We are one of the largest on-the-road-only street food companies in the UK. After falling in love with the street food industry as a teenager, we have been continually growing this business for the last 14 years. Beginning with our Mexican menu in 2010.

  • Match day hospitality. Hot handhelds that serve fast are the hero. Street food lines deliver consistent portions and cope with rolling arrivals before or after the game.
  • University balls and society nights. Buffets and small plates manage big headcounts efficiently. Vegetarian and vegan choices are easy to integrate so everyone eats together.
  • Venues and Spaces That Work

The right layout is half the battle. Liverpool’s mix of old and new means you’ll see a few recurring setups.

    • Waterfront lofts. High ceilings and open floors love a street food parade or a showpiece biryani station. Check power availability and wind cover for any outside fryers.
    • Boutique hotels. Great for plated banquets or hybrid service. Confirm whether the venue requires a preferred supplier list or corkage rules for outside caterers and where hot hold can sit.
    • Georgian townhouses. Gorgeous rooms with character. Space is tighter, so a well edited buffet or small plates menu usually flows better than a sprawling spread.
    • Campus venues. Designed for volume and quick changeovers. Buffets and street food make service simple, and caterers will appreciate loading bays and clear timings.

Themes and Menus That Land on Merseyside

Keep it focused, seasonal and lively. These ideas work particularly well in Liverpool.

    • Coastal spice trail. Feature Goan or Keralan fish dishes, coconut tempered vegetables and bright citrus salads. It feels fresh and links neatly to the city’s maritime backdrop.
    • Small plates with cocktail pairing. Build a tasting style lineup that matches the drinks service. For example crisp pakoras with a light spritz, spiced prawn skewers with a short sour, or smoky tandoori bites with something long and refreshing.
    • Street food parade for the after party. Once the dance floor warms up, a run of hot handhelds is your refuel plan. Guests grab, grin and go back to it.
    • Signature biryani moment. A big pan reveal gives you aroma, theatre and speed. Pair with raita, kachumber and warm breads for a satisfying main without slowing the room.

What It Should Cost in Liverpool

Use these ranges to set a sensible budget. Final prices depend on guest count, staffing hours, travel and menu complexity.

    • Street food at £13 to £22 per person. Ideal for match days, after parties and outdoor receptions.
    • Buffet at £18 to £30 per person. The reliable middle ground for campus venues and townhouses where you want variety and pace.
    • Banquet at £28 to £50 per person. Plated courses, higher staffing and equipment, and a more formal feel for weddings and gala dinners.

Tip for value: limit mains to two excellent options and spend on a showpiece station. Guests remember the highlight more than a long list.

A Simple Plan From Enquiry to Service

    1. Pick your service style. Decide if your event needs movement or ceremony. Street food for pace, buffet for balance, banquet for structure.
    2. Lock your headcount window. Caterers can scale, but a realistic range helps with equipment and staffing. Add a small contingency for late RSVPs.
    3. Share your venue details. Photos or a floor plan do wonders. Mark power points, entrances, lift access and where you’d like stations to sit.
    4. Choose a focused menu. Agree the vegetarian and vegan paths first, then tune spice levels and proteins. Two mains, two sides and a standout feature works well.
    5. Confirm dietary needs. Collect allergy info with RSVPs and ask for a written allergen sheet. If halal is required, state whether the whole kitchen must be halal.
    6. Set service timings. Put food cue points on your schedule and share with entertainment. For example arrival snacks at 18:30, main service 19:30, dessert 21:00, late night bites 23:00.
    7. Final checks. Staffing ratio, equipment list, setup and breakdown windows, waste plan and any venue rules. Put it in one confirmation so everyone is aligned.

Practical Extras That Protect Food Quality

    • Warm plates and hot hold. Keep service consistent during speeches and photo pauses.
    • Two queue lines for 150 guests. Add clear signage for veggie, mild and spicy to speed the flow.
    • Weather cover for outside cooking. A small canopy keeps the show on if the sea breeze picks up.
    • Lighting and power plans. Mark routes for cables and confirm where generators or distribution boards can sit.
    • Kid friendly tweaks. Half portions on request and gentle spice options help families feel looked after.

    Street Food, Buffet or Banquet

Each format has a job. Pick the one that supports your day, not the other way round.

    • Street food suits moving crowds, rolling arrivals and short dwell times. It photographs well and creates a festival feel.
    • Buffets deliver value and variety with predictable timings. They’re the workhorse for uni balls and larger private parties.
    • Banquets bring focus for speeches, thank yous and first dances. They suit hotels and townhouse dining rooms where you want a classic rhythm.

Hybrid is common in Liverpool. You might run small plates for reception, a focused buffet for mains, then a street food burst after the first set.

    Dietaries and Inclusive Design

Indian menus are naturally friendly to different diets. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are plentiful and not treated as an afterthought. Gluten free options are straightforward with rice based plates and grilled items. For nut and dairy allergies, confirm sauces and desserts early and label clearly at service. If halal is required, discuss certification and prep separation. The aim is one cohesive menu where nobody feels second best.
