Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir provides music for a huge variety of musical projects, ranging from music for television and radio to weddings, private functions, corporate events, school-based projects, festivals, and studio recordings.
We are proud of our work with BBC Radio 2, Radio 4, Eurovision winners Secret Garden and UK soul legend Mica Paris. We’ve performed at the Jazz Café, St Paul’s Cathedral, and international festivals. One of our favourite things to do is sing at weddings – we’ve provided gospel and soul singing for literally hundreds of happy couples on their special day.

Versatility is our watchword. We don’t just specialise in gospel music; our singers can also perform soul, jazz, and classical pieces. If we are performing at your wedding ceremony, you can expect our singers to lead the traditional hymn singing with gusto – and our keyboard player can even double up as the organist!

We engaged four singers and an accompanist for a funeral service. They did a good job: excellent communication and attention to detail in the run-up to the event, arrived well in advance and set up without any fuss, sorted out and executed cues smoothly, some stylish arrangements and keyboard playing, infectiously enthusiastic singing. We only wish we could have had more of them! Full marks.

They were incredibly professional, arriving very early to warm up, and gave superb value for money with a variety of traditional and modern songs, some of which they learned especially for the event, at our request. From our initial enquiry, Soul Sanctuary were very responsive and gave us loads of flexibilty on personalising the songs and helped with creative input (including a brilliant acapella chant for the entrance of the bride).

Soul Sanctuary performed as a group of four performers at our Catholic church wedding ceremony and added a whole new dimension to our amazing day! We were able to work extensively with Miko beforehand to select a mixture of Gospel style songs and more traditional style hymns that worked perfectly on the day - his ideas and recommendations were invaluable. Soul Sanctuary sings an eclectic range of music – we’re definitely not your typical gospel choir! Our heart is solid gold gospel, with soul, R&B, jazz, Latin and contemporary classical music thrown into the mix too.
It isn’t always easy to find existing gospel music that suits the structured liturgy of a Catholic Mass or an Anglican church service. So as well as performing classic modern gospel music by artists like Kim Burrell and Kirk Franklin, we also commission original compositions.
As a result, our extensive repertoire includes five complete gospel Mass settings (Sanctus, Gloria, Kyrie, etc), a collection of funky and jazzy psalm tones, and more than 50 original songs.
